The LIC One Act Festival is now accepting submissions

The Act One: One Act Festival is a competition style one-act play festival held in September at The Secret Theatre. Each week actors, playwrights, and directors band together and compete to win cash prizes in Best Play ($200 Prize), Best Director ($100 Prize), Best Actor ($50 Prize), and Best Actress ($50 Prize). As the weeks go by, teams advance to the final rounds through audience votes. Winners will be announced and awarded on the last night of the festival during the closing night party hosted by The Secret Theatre.

The LIC One Act Festival is now accepting submissions for this year's festival running September 5th-22nd. Deadline for submission is July 22nd.  Scripts may be sent to submissions@secrettheatre.com Visit The Secret Theater's web site for more information.

The theatre will provide free limited rehearsal space on a first come first served basis, and can provide simple set and props resources. There is an open call for directors as well who will be paired with the plays at the discretion of the producers. However if the playwright has a director they’d like to recommend for their piece, it will be taken into consideration. Directors are responsible for casting but the theatre will provide at least one day of open call auditions to facilitate casting as well as provide the free space (limited) if directors wish to hold their own auditions. Minor script adjustments may be suggested in order to suit the festival production.
