Menagerie is now accepting entries for the One Page Play Competition

web site

Menagerie is now accepting entries for the One Page Play Competition which will take place at this year’s Hotbed, Cambridge’s premier new writing festival.
All entries will be read and the best will be performed by professional actors throughout the Hotbed weekend at Cambridge Junction. We are looking for 24 scripts. Audience members will vote on the best play out of those presented and the winner will receive £100 to donate to a charity of their choice. This is a fantastic opportunity for everyone to put their words to the test and get the chance to see their work come to life in a professional theatrical arena.

The one page plays can be about ANY subject from current politics to soap opera relationships. The possibilities are endless. The only RULES are:

  • 1 Page of A4 only (10-12 point text)
  • No more than 8 actors featured in the play
  • The duration should be no longer than 4 minutes

All we need now is some creative writing! To enter, just email your one page play to
office@menagerie.uk.com before 12th June 2014.

  • Please put ONE PAGE PLAY clearly in the subject line of your email
  • Also, please present your play as an attachment. Your attachment needs to be named with THE TITLE OF YOUR PLAY and YOUR NAME

Please note the One Page Play Competition also has a Young Writers category for under 18s- please specify if you belong to this category.

A full list of events will be published in May. For more information, go to: www.menagerietheatre.co.uk.

One Page Play Terms & Conditions
All plays will be performed anonymously. If a play is to receive a performance, the writer will be notified as early as possible. All plays will be produced by Menagerie and only the best submitted plays will be performed; Menagerie’s decisions regarding the selection of plays are final. The overall winners will be decided by an audience vote.
