In honor of Jim Martin, Reno theatre supporter, collaborator and angel, our One Act Play Competition has been renamed The Doc Jim Martin Playwright Competition.
We like to encourage the writing of new works even though our mission is dedicated to classic shows. You never know what new piece will be a classic 30 years later.
To that end, we invite all one act submissions from national and international hobbyists or professionals. You will have the chance to work directly with a director assigned to the competition on the development of your script and our talented actors to bring your words to life.
The intermediate goal will be to workshop a staged reading of our two winning scripts. The long term goal will be to have a full stage production grace the GLM mainstage.
Submissions are due by June 1, 2012.
Staged Readings scheduled for August 17, 18, 19, 24 and 25, 2012
Stage Production scheduled for November, 2012
