Badass Theatre Company is now requesting submissions from playwrights for our second annual 9 x 9 short play festival to be presented in June 2014!
We will choose 9 new plays to present as a fundraiser for our company. Please see the guidelines below for submission information.
This year's prompt is: Tolerance/Intolerance

GUIDELINES FOR 9 X 9 PLAY SUBMISSIONS
- It must be a previously unproduced original work that incorporates, or is inspired by, the prompt.
- It is advised to remember our mission: Our mission is to engage diverse artists and audiences in new and inclusive stories in order to expand the boundaries of mainstream theatre to accurately reflect the many voices of our community.
- The play must be no more than 9 minutes long
- No more than four characters/ four performers
- Limit technical needs.
- Blank stage or one table and two chairs are available.
- Submissions must be sent no later than April 19
- Files must be sent as PDF or word. They must be named with the title of the play, underscore, your name, underscore 2014. TheTempest_Shakepeare_2014
- Please put the title name in the subject line of your email submission.
- Include a one paragraph bio along with any of your links.
- Only one submission per playwright please
All submissions will be read by a panel of BTC Artistic Associates and the 9 plays selected will be announced in mid May 2014.
The 9 x 9 Night is an annual, all volunteer fundraising event in support of BTC’s season.
