First Draft! is an opportunity for playwrights to “test-drive” their completed play in front of an audience. Actors present the piece on stage “readers-theater” style. After the reading there is a moderated Q&A session with the dramatist. We hope you will join us as we bring yet another exciting live arts experience to the Edmonds community! Admission is FREE.
First Draft! dates for 2017/18 Season are planned for September 17, February 18, 2018 and June 10, 2018.

Submission guidelines:
Original, unproduced, un-staged full-length plays. No musicals, shorts or one-acts (unless two one-acts are presented as part of a ‘companion piece’ series). Playwrights are required to be present the evening of the reading.
Please submit the following via email to: firstdraft@edmondsdriftwoodplayers.org
- A summary of the work
- An electronic version of the work in PDF format with a cover page that includes playwright contact information.
- A history of the work’s workshops, previous readings and currently scheduled readings.
- If a piece is accepted, a full production prior to this reading will void the agreement and a replacement will be chosen.
